I am so glad I don't live in Canada...

I don't think I could keep myself from buying one of these Hanoverians (my favorite breed).

I just love this mare for some reason
http://www.rcmp-f.ca/auction/stable/lot-9.html

She is confirmed in foal to this horse: Dubai

(Donnerhall/Duerkheim/Shogun xx)

* Scored 8s for his gallop, walk, free jumping, temperament, character and rideability at his stallion test.
* Scored a 9 for his willingness to work
* Stamps his foals with his positive attributes, therefore improving the RCMP breeding stock.
* Dressage 110.42 / Jumping 86.52

lol, am I crazy? Has anyone ever gotten a horse from them?
(sorry if this doesn't go here)

Pretty horse! It's interesting to me that they auction them off.

The RCMP stables are just across town from me. I think you can go for a tour which for some reason I never have. They auction off the horses that aren't suitable for the musical ride every couple years or so. Of course originally the horses of the RCMP were Canadians...

Anything to make them seem "more appealing" and hence drive in more money :roll:

It is interesting actually. As far as I know only the Calgary Police uses Canadians. I would think hanos to just not be that suitable for the type of work they do on the streets and doesn't make sense to me they would choose those guys.

What makes you say they aren't suitable? I don't know what they are required to do on the streets...

Annually the RCMP auctions off the horses that physically or mentally don't work for the musical ride. Most of them aren't used for any other type of work. The musical ride is very strict about the amount of white on the horses, none is ideal.
I'm dying to go to one of the auctions, they are beautiful horses.
