I can't believe this!

I was looking at Athena's pedigree on allbreedpedigree.com, and found out that Athena's great grandfather Wendepunkt is actually a Hanoverian! My old trainer/Athena's old owner actually thinks that her "Oldenburg" mare out of Another Spray by Wendepunkt (i think that's how you say it) is foaling all these Oldenburgs! She has sold more then 10 foals and claimed them as being Oldenburgs when they're actually Hanoverians. I was even fooled, even thought I bought Athena for Athena and not because of her pedigree but still! I can't believe everyone was fooled in to that! Is there actually another stallion named Wendepunkt that is really an Oldenburg, or is there only a Hanoverian one?

Here's a picture of Wendepunkt (hanoverian):

well is she selling them as pure oldenburgs or just approved Oldenburgs. Bc most warmbloods can be approved under another breed registry if they meet the criteria, even a TB mare can be an approved Oldenburg/ Trakehner/DWB or Hanovarian or even all 4 so it depends. I've seen many hanos as approved oldenburgs and vice versa.

You will find hanovarians in virtually all WB registries. I have always considered them to be the most versitile of all the WB types but that is my opinion.

My own boy is Hanovarian Anglo Arab and his daddy (the Hannovarian) carries such notables as Dollar Girl and Ahlerich.

I have no idea. She moved away about 5 years ago and took her horses with her. I'll have to ask around to see.

Really? I'm still really new to all the warmblood registry stuff, so this is very interesting. Well, the broodmare is a hanoverian/TB cross or she says she's a oldenburg/Tb cross registered as an oldenburg. But she may have been registered as just an american warmblood. Her registered name is Point Blank I. I'm not sure what exactly she's registered as now that I think about it.

So she could really be a Hanoverian/TB, but be registered as an Oldenburg? Just wondering if I'm getting this right?

She is right. There was a lady at my barn who had a TB and was registred as a Oldenburg.

OK first of all the stallion in the picture you posted is not the sire of your Point Blank.

There are several Wendepunkts and yours is Wendepunkt3 born in 1977. The one in the picture was born in 1972 and is out of the mare Eingabe by Einglas.

All the Wendepunkts are by Wendekreis and all are born Hanovarian. Now I can't be 100% sure but I suspect that your Wendepunkt was imported (about 1988 or thereabouts I suspect) to North America and APPROVED ISR/NA which is the North American branch/version of the European Oldenburg registry. These registries are not connected and approval in one Oldenburg will not guarantee approval in the other. The mare Another Spray was most likey approved ISR/NA. From Wendepunkt's import time all his offspring are Oldenburg and it would be with the ISR?Old NA not the European registry.
