lol that would cost him a fortune because he's said that I can still have her for another 18 months or so until his nephew is old enough and then he wants to give her to him. I want to say no out of spite but I want to keep her as long as I can in the hope that somehow he will change his mind.

Maybe you should paint Possum and give her a different name. And when her owner asks, say she ran away.

I'm hoping that either in 18 months he'll forget about her, or when he gets hit with the bill, he'll tell you to keep her.

Well, let me start by saying he's gorgeous! And you're very lucky to have stumbled upon a Trakhener without breaking the bank hehe.
I've only had a couple of Trak experiences but I'll share anyway.
I've ridden one Trak mare, named Bella, and she was EXTREMELY athletic. Built beautifully too, but she was a hothead, and stubborn. A lot of the WB breeds you have to do things a little differently, because they have bulk and they know it. They need an equal partnership. Bella was definitely an interesting ride but BOY could she jump!
There's also a Trak mare up the road from me...imported from Germany, nine years old and never ridden, siiiigh. What a waste. Her name's Reggie and I loooove her. She's got an athletic build and beautiful movement but she's very hot also! That's part of why they haven't trained her. (And they're selling her for 18k lol)
That's probably not helpful but basically if you can figure Jarred out you'll find yourself with a very smart, very athletic boy that could do tons for you!
    Good luck!

Hey thanks. He is gorgeous and yes, I am sooooo lucky to have found him at the price I did :)

He is very athletic and strong. Considering im only 5'3" and he is 17.3hh it can make it hard for me sometimes lol slowly but surely though we are building a good working friendship. It was even harder with him because he had become so independent having to fend for himself for nearly two years. He was arrogant and rude and nasty but we started sorting that pretty quickly and he is improving every day he's turning into a right mammas boy lol

    That is one TALL trakehner!!
Traks have a tendancy to be very smoochie with their person. He's a lovely boy!
