Need Help: What type of breed do you think is my horse?

I have a horse (gelding named Surveni, but I call him Veni) that I bought from a private seller who was selling all of her horses. I asked where she got him and she said an auction; but she was told he used to be a show horse but was unable to receive paperwork. I keep researching different breeds trying to figure out which breed of Warmblood he may be but I keep seeing Thoroughbred in him. He stands 16.2hh, all black. His temperament is a big teddy bear but sometimes he can be very anxious without any sign it's coming, he is very eager to work and please; however at some times he can be very stubborn. He is a cribber and he has a fat pouch on his chest. He knows English and Western. Shows some sign of arthritis in his front knees, which I suspect is from jumping; and is currently 13 years old. I have research Trakehner, Canadian Show Horse, and many more. He does not have any branding on him to help in the search.
The pictures are when I first got him (he wasn't fed up to standards, had worms & in desperate need of a float - which I corrected all three) so don't be fooled by the pictures - he's added much much weight and is up to correct size.

Thank you for all your help!

I'd say a quarter horse thoroughbred cross. Either way, he's a cutie.

Defintly some TB but he looks a lot stockier than a pure TB!!!

I keep doing more research - does he look like a cross between TB and Irish Sport horse to anyone, or a Trakehner / TB cross?

Definately some TB. I wouldn't say quarter horse because he is leggier, the head is a little bigger than what I've seen on quarter horses and he doesn't have the quarter horse bottom. But I could be wrong...
