Need a little bit of clarification!

So I bought my horse and he is paint and something else. He had no papers with him and I was told by my lesson instructor that he could be registered as a pinto? He is a gelding. I would really like to be able to show him eventually so I am wondering how I go about this. The girl I bought him from recieved no papers since she bought him from an auction but also said she was going to register him as a pinto..

Any information would be greatly appreciate since I no longer use that lesson instructor due to some problems!

I see I can register him alone on color. He fits the characteristics. However, when I download the registeration papers it still asks for information that I do not have.
