New Filly

A while back I posted a thread that became a sore subject for many including myself about some mares that looked to possibly be pregnant and ones that were. Several people stated that the mare that WAS definitely pregnant was not and was just excessively fat. Well for everyone who said that, and of coarse the eyes of foal adorers, I went out today to find she now has a filly at her side.

I went out a couple of days ago and she was starting to get bagged and have a a steady stream of almost clear wax/milk mixture. She didn't look like her belly had dropped back but she was narrower then she had been. Today she has a beautiful brown, almost wild bay, filly with two hind socks (just like mom) and a star almost perfectly centered on her forehead!!! She also has a high whirl which some believe to mean she will always be high spirited.

The filly did get curious about me and my sister and we would have spent more time out there but there was a pretty bad storm blowing in and I had to get the penned horses fed. I will try to get pictures of just the foals next time I am out there. Classy (the first mare to foal) has no problem keeping her colt separated however she is starting to let us mess with him more now that he is venturing out on his own. Scorchin (Two socks) is very content letting me go right up to her and her filly.

Can't wait to see this little girl grow up!!!

On a side note there are several horses out there that previously hadnt been touchable that I have been working with and I was able to give them a full body rub down today as well.

Cute baby :)

But that metal pole sticking out of the barn door is a horrible puncture wound waiting to happen ): or something for baby's halter to get stuck on.

Baby's don't have halters and probably wont until they are a year the owners hardly come out anymore. Hopefully the foals will change that and I have been working on that lean-to and the gates are closed as some horses are being brought in and penned there for a while.

I am not sure how many more but hopefully at least miss Rosie and Monroe. We have near 30 horses out there now not counting the horses rescued from the fire area. I am not sure all are covered or if they just looked it or were sharing symptoms, like sympathetic symptoms or whatever it is called, but I guess we will wait to see. The two we have are just stunning and I would love to see more out of the heard but I do not like he idea of what might happen to them if they do. I know Stars owner would try to keep it or find it a good home but the BO's horses foals will probably be thrown in auction as soon as they are weaned. These two belong to a lady trying to become a barrel racer and her husband or boyfriend (not sure what he is to her).

I am surprised that you are still messing with horses that the owners have not given you permission. You need to talk to the owners and get permission.

I have talked to the owners of these particular mares the last time they were out and they said they didn't mind me petting them and giving them treats but unless it was medical that they would rather that be it for now. Also all but Star, Oreo and the five new horses they either belong to the BO who gave me permission to train whichever horses I wanted to and that he would pay me before he went back on his word. Stars owner doesn't mind her getting attention but doesn't even want her to have medical treatment and I have his number because HE gave it to me in case of emergency.

I am not just half-hazarding stuff I do with these horses and I have never tried anything but petting them without permission unless there was little or no other choice. The buckskin is been turned over to the property because his owner couldn't catch him and she didn't want to keep making payments on him. I however have been able to give him and the Quarab mare full body rub downs and will most likely start bringing them in for a brushing and some basic ground manners as they want to train the mare and the gelding is in really bad shape, but again not without the BO's permission on these specific two. Rosie and Monroe I do also have permission to mess with.

For those who saying I shouldnt be taking these pictures it is sort of a collection for other reasons as well and while I is more direct it is still similar of taking pictures at shows and getting other people and their horses in the shot. The first pictures I tried to take when I brought Sonny, my gelding, out there most of the other horses were in the shot to start with however those pictures got lost on my old phone.
