For all owners of OTTB's- I found a great FREE site to watch racing videos (FINALLY)!!

I have been looking for vidoes of my mare racing since I got her in August. I was recently reading a blog from Eventing Nation and I saw this website mentioned: Cal Racing

I went there and I found videos of my mare racing. We thought she may have been injured while on the track because she went from placing in the top 3 to placing last within a month. By looking at these videos, I could pinpoint the moment when something went wrong. Her jockey was hitting her and she slowed down to go from 3rd to 10th. It looks like the jockey just gave up. It may have been an injury or just her time to get out of racing, but either way she still ended up with me (and is now healthy). :)

Well, I just wanted to share this exciting news that I finally found a site with free videos. Maybe you guys already knew about this... now if only I could find my gelding's videos...

Although she never won, she came closer than my other horse with a few seconds and some thirds. I can also tell now what her "style" was. The good races she would stay in the middle of the pack untill the last possible second, then she'd suddenly explode. The bad races- she was in first or second the whole race untill the end when she ran out of gas. So when she pretends like her stride isn't adjustable when we're jumping- I know she's just being stubborn now :) lol

Oh good. I'm not the only one who realizes my horse is full of BS when he pretends he can't move forward. I have a picture of him galloping with all four legs suspended that I look at whenever he's behind my leg. Silly TBs!

My mare raced in New York and they had 16/14 of her races (She must've scratched for 2 of them). I don't know how far these go back because my mare raced only a year ago. Maybe it depends on how popular the track was? My mare raced at Aqueduct, Saratoga and Belmont, which are pretty well know tracks. Sorry you guys couldn't find your horses :(

No, I used Equibase to help find out where and when she raced. I used Cal Racing to find the videos.
When you are on the home page (of Cal Racing) , scroll down and click on the "Race Replay" button. Then click on the "horse" tab and type in the name of the horse. It gives a list of all horses with that name. You probably want the one that has the (T) next to it because that means thoroughbred. You then pick the race you want to see and it's a camera that follows your horse as it goes in the gate and (if your horse doesn't fall way behind), it follows the horse through the race. At any point in this process, it will probably ask for a username and password, so you have to make an account. It's free and I haven't gotten any spam emails from them.

I just used that site... I looked up a horse I know, the sweetest most loveable horse, always has to check and see if everyone has treats for him lol. I just watched a vid of him getting blocked, then make a tremendous run to catch the leader who had a considerable lead on the rest... He almost caught him too, he came second. And the video I JUST watched was him winning his first race :)
His name is I'm A Little Fish. I love that horse :D

Fort Erie, last time I checked, has videos of races from way back as well. I found numerous races that Indie was in, after checking equibase out and finding which race and heat she was in on which day.
