Partial Tattoo Number? Will It Still Work?

I finally got Nia's tattoo number with the help of my trainer because she hates her mouth messed with, but we could only get 30 second glances if we were lucky.

We have the number, but not the letter.
We think it was a Y or an X, but we couldn't tell and she wasn't really cooperating.
Can I submit the number to the website even though I don't know the letter?

Or would I have to call them or something?

If you have an age of the horse you may be able to do it. How old is it? The letter is for the year they were born and the 5 numbers are their registration number- my old TB was A19312, he was born in 1997. His registration number was the 5 digits plus the 97 from the year he was born, can't remember if that is before or after, have to look at my new guys papers when I get home. They have colors and sex and usually photos on file, so you may be able to get your info still.

We don't know her age, which is another reason we wanted to look her up.
When I got her the guy said she was 14, but her tattoo looked like it was either X or Y which would make her about 12-13, which would fit with her teeth.

There was no match for Y00118 so I'm trying X instead and hopefully they find something...
Lol if they don't I guess I'll just keep submitting different letters.
