I was just wondering if an Andalusian is pure Spanish but their parents are not registered with ANCCE, if the Andalusian is eligible for revision. If so, what is the process and who must be contacted?
An Andalusian horse is the same as a Spanish Horse or PRE. The name varies in some locations but all in all they are essentially the same and can be registered in ANCCE, USPRE, or IALHA. ANCCE is the official registry for the breed, and in my opinion is of more value than any other. To register a foal you must provide the parents information, and registry numbers which can be found on Inicio - Gescab Online or download the app called MELPI (this one is free, I think you have to pay for the other one) Also let's say you own the mare and payed for a stud fee from another person to get her covered, ANCCE will require for the stallions owner to provide a breeding certificate. Then a certified person, usually a vet that's approved by ANCCE, will collect hairs from the foal to have them DNA tested. That is how we have done it for the past years. Price varies, and if you take too long to register you might be charged a late fee. This is based on my experience registering babies in Mexico, but the whole procedure might be slightly different in the states. Best thing to do is call ANCCE or someone from USPRE and they will gladly help.
