Quarter horse with something else?

Wow. I have learned a lot of DOs and DONTs on this site...sadly I did a few DONTs **hangs head** bottom line I was ignorant.

Ok so here's my story...
I have always wanted a horse...and have always had a "thing" for quarter horses. My plan was this, find a good starter horse, tame, gentle personality, mare or gelding, and bay colored. Ofcourse being a quarter horse would also be a major plus :) And so after months and months of looking I finally find a 9 year old 15 h bay (seal brown) mare. All the other options upon looking were horses in their late teens...wasn't too thrilled with that, so I was so ready to see what this mare had to offer. My husband and I went to take a look...I took her for a spin...seemed very sweet, stopped good, very good with verbal ques, I could handle her great...I really liked her and made her mine :)

After the day I brought her home I had the vet come evaluate her and run a coggin's test. I know THIS now, I should have done that before hand. And most certainly would now...but luckly she came out clear and completely healthy. A week later when I went to pick up her certficate which list her name, age, BREED, and a few pix, description and states she is neg on her coggins...I noticed it said quarter horse. Here's the thing...when I signed her in to register her with the vet all I put was her name, age and my info...so being as a vet without me saying classified her as quarter horse I was thrilled. For when I went to check her out I NEVER asked her previous owner's what breed she was--I just "assumed" she was quarter horse for in this same ad there were a few other horses for sale aswell, and they were all 3 quarter horses. So here's the tricky part...
I keep in touch with her previous owner's from time to time...just kinda give them updates on her...and in a conversation I say "Oh and this whole time I just assumed India was a quarter horse...wasn't too sure but the Vet listed her as one" and her prev owner replies "actually she's 80% quarter horse and 20% something else, not sure but it's obvious her quarter horse genes are dominant"...so here I am thinking "how can something be 80 and 20? Maybe 75 and 25...50 and 50 but 80 and 20? I dunno, maybe I'm having a blonde moment, I'm not to shabby with numbers...but it did get me thinking...
Ok so now I'm just curious...what is that "20%" lol...I have to giggle cause it sounds silly...any ideas? Also her tail seems to flag up when she's runnin', arab perhaps

Oh and I gotta mention...If indeed she does have another breed in her...it's ok, I have so much love for this horse, I don't care if she's a mutt, haha...she's made my lil girl dreams come true even though I'm 26 years old barely owning my first horse...doesn't matter to me what she is...

Here's a quick clip of her running and couple pix...

You love this horse.....it doesn't matter. What do you do with her? Do you have plans for her (showing, etc) that her breeding would be an issue?

I have no clue about the numbers either. But I will say she does look part Arabian or 20% or whatever. Hope someone else can answer your question better.

I have started doing barrels with her...her previous owner's teen was doing roping from time to time with her and her younger daughter was starting barrels...she knows the pattern and gets pretty tight turns...again I'm still being taught myself...were learning again together...but other than that--just pleasure riding...it doesnt bother me anymore really that she may be something more than quarter horse...just curious to see what else she could be...yalls thoughts and opinions...I myself don't know much about other breeds other than the physical attributes of quarter horses and arabians...so Im just "guesstamatin" lol

I'd say she definitely has Arab in her. I have an Arab, and your horse has the tail, slightly dished in face, and some of the body build of an Arabian. I'd bet she has Arabian in with her quarter horse.

There are lines of AQHA reiners that have the same look as you describe.
