Quarter Horses are QH's, so why aren't.....

We call Quarter Horses Qh's, so why aren't Paint Horses PH's?
Lol, just a random thought/question.
Anyone have any idea?

I think because you can refer to one as a "paint" but you don't call a QH a "quarter". People just want something shorter to say, but since paint is already short enough they didn't bother... I think. This is just my theory lol.

I agree. Its like Arabians are often referred to as Arabs, Thoroughbreds TBs, Dutch Warmbloods DWBs, and so on and so forth. People shorten them for spelling purposes in ads where you pay per line or word or whatever so they want it as short as possible, and just cause we tend to like to shorten names, we give people nicknames just like we give our horses nicknames, so why not shorten the breed name as well. Interesting random thought lol, but a good question.
