Question about Half Arabian registration app.

So, since I am actually (finally!) getting ahead with money, I am really wanting to get my guy registered.

I know it's going to cost me an arm and a leg since he's now 3 going on 4, I don't plan on showing at all and he is a gelding, so breeding is out, however, I would just like to do it. Just cause.

His sire is a registered PB Arab and his dam is a Reg. Half-Arab (15/16ths actually which makes him 34/35ths I think.).

Now when the application asks for the "recorded owners" does it mean the person that is recorded by the AHA as the current owner or is it just whoever the actual owner is, in the case that papers were not transferred into their name?

A link to the registration application for half arabs-

Recorded owner means just that. If the current owners haven't transferred the papers, then they're not the owner of record with the AHA.

As far as the purity percentage, it's immaterial as Arabians are registered as either purebred or half.

You want the truth? You can't HANDLE the truth!

Dang. I was hoping that was not the case...the mare has changed hands several times and not been transferred...*sigh*. This is going to be a pain in the rear...

I know that the percentage is not important, just thought it was interesting. Thanks for the info!

ETA-Woo! Lucked out. Still have the email of the person she is registered under. That's a relief!

I am sorry if this is a stupid question - but what do you mean with a PB Arab? Part Bred? If neither sire nor dam are registered as purebred with AHA the foal can not be registered as a half arabian, no matter how much Arabian blood it carries. Before you get all carried away about signatures of former owners please make sure that at least one of the parents is, indeed, purebred and registered as such.

Good luck!

Picture of my 87.5% Arabian mare by PB Arabian MJD Corona De Oro out of a Halfarabian mare. She could only be registered with the Pinto registry
Her foal is by a purebred Arabian Stallion and therefore "back" in the Halfarabian registry with almost 94% Arabian blood - which AHA doesn't care much about, even though the dam is high in Arabian blood the moment she "slipped" out of the Half-Arabian registry her pedigree was lost (literally) for AHA, the foals papers do only show the dams name and breed, not even the names of her sire and dam, both registered with HAHR.
Hope I didn't confuse anybody ...

PB means Pure Bred. Very pretty! My elderly purebred mare was used for a Pintabian breeding operation years ago. Unfortunately the breeder only registered one of her five foals because the others 'didn't have enough white on them'.

My daughter had an Arab registered as 75% Arab blood but he was born in 1974, have they done away with 3/4 Arabs now?

Wares, they just register everything under Pure or Half, no matter the percentage, excluding Anglos.
That's why my boy being a high percentage (more than half) Arab cross doesn't really matter, he's still only able to be registered as half.

Always easiest to just give AHA a call in cases like this. They're pretty good to deal with and can tell you what you need to proceed with registration :)
