I figgered this would be the best section for this question.
What 'are' Oldenburgs'? Are they thorobreds? I am afraid I have complete ignorance on the subject and I haven't yet found out, so I'm just going to hafta ask.
You got me thinking with your q and I came across the history http://www.oldenburghorse.com/Oldbrg-History.htm , kinda interesting to see they are such a mish mash of European Stallions from the 17th century just bought over to Oldenburg in Germany!
Wow, see, that is what had me bomfogged. I had a friend tell me they were a certain bloodline of thorobreds, and another said they were arab/tb crosses (which are actually Anglos, right?) but this is much more clear (and accurate!)
Yes like everyone said they are warmbloods. I used to ride one in lessons, loved him!!! Except he was previously trained in dressage and would randomly do piaffes and side passes! Heres a pic of him, he was a really big horse! Oh and his name was Casper...
