This is Landon Just got him today, he was on a sandlot and needs some more food and lovings.
But seeing as he is a rescue he has to papers and we have no idea what breed he is or anything bout him.

He sure likes that grass, poor boy! He looks like a standbred to me, his long back and large head.

Very hard to say. He has a big, fairly upright shoulder which says some kind of "gaited" type or warmblood/TB. He does have a big head, and a huge hip. He is big boned as well. I would wager he may be a Standardbred, or an old style Saddlebred. Very cute horse you got there.

Standardbred. At first I was thinking thoroughbred though.

Aside from being underweight he looks well bred, so can you find a tattoo or brand anywhere on his body? Maybe a tattoo on his lip? I'd say either standy or TB, but he has a beautiful shape to his body and I'd guess he was a well bred horse in his early days, hopefully registered.

I would have said Thbd x , but you all think STandardbred. We don't hve many of thoser around here, so I am not familair with them. He has featheres, so make me think there's some draft in there somewhere. He has good conformation, and will be gorgeous when he fills out. Sent us pictures in a few months.

Re: feathers - I think he is just fuzzy. I had purebred Arabs that would grow hair like that on their fetlocks..

ETA: OP, how does he move? Can you post a video? I am leaning more towards big boned TB than my original thought. Look for lip tattoo. Could be a Clyde cross or similar (cross with TB) causing the big bone. Either way he is gorgeous, and going to fill out beautifully!

With that flat croup, the general build up front (including neck and head), and especially the head, I'm almost leaning toward anglo-arab (TB/arab cross). Either that or standardbred.
