Question Saving Horse Breeds?

Hi everyone,

I would like to help save some horse breeds - even if it isn't that big... So many are going endangered!

Thanks, Gillian.

Not sure what you have in mind Gillian. Are you considering giving money to some cause or purchasing a herd of an endangered equine to breed on?
There are many horse and pony breeds across the world about to become extinct but would not be allowed to be taken out of their countries of origin. Others already have a few breeders from which you could purchase stock.
Where in the world you live, might make a huge difference in what you have in mind.

I suspect your best bet, would be to do a whole lot of research on endangered breeds. Then pick just a couple you'd like to help. When you've picked your breeds, then you'd need to very carefully research anyone taking monies to protect these breeds. Who is in charge of the funds? How is it spent? What success have they had etc.

I suggest looking into the Abaco Barb, extremely endagered.
