Second guessing his breed

Hello!

So i've been riding and working with this horse for months now. The woman who owns him was told he was a quarter horse when she bought him, but we strongly believe he's part something else so now i'm finally getting around to asking what your opinions are :) im sorry if these pictures are no good, let me know what kind would be good and I can get some.

He definitely looks quarter horse to me. In his body. Butt screams qh. His head on the other hand, maybe some arab? His face is smaller and slightly...dishy? Very refined I should say. His eye also appears very expressive which arabians have as well.

I would say he's all Quarter. Newer generation Quarter horses have more Arabian influence. They tend to have smaller feet and indents in their face. Older Quarters had more thoroughbred influence so their looks were more square and their face was straighter.

Yeah its his head that has us guessing, he didnt come with papers or anything like that... heck his name was the "brown one". His owner bought him as a guest horse but once she brought him up to health she found out that he bucks with a green rider but its superb with a ballanced experienced one :P She thought that maybe he's an appendix, could that be?

I would definitely say all qh. My sister's mare (the sorrel) is mistaken for a half arabian a lot because of her refined, dishy (albeit large) head, but she's full, 100% qh. Her filly, the brown, is a qh/paint, and she has the same refined head.

Well then that's awesome!! But what about that white spot, could that mean anything? I have no clue about the ins and outs of breeds and coloring sorry.

That looks like a saddle sore, although it's really low... It's pretty perfect so I doubt it's an actual marking, lol.

Nowadays, with the more modern breeding lines, you'll see a slight dish in the profile as opposed to the older lines that have a straight or convex profile. I like the slightly dished look, and your boy has classy Quarter curves, so there is no doubt he's full blood.

Quarter horses are so diverse with the way that they're built, that you wouldn't believe they're registered unless you showed their papers.

Just look at some of the hunter/jumpers, and compare them to a reiner or a roper. If someone stood the two side by side, the difference would be pretty astounding.
