This is Beau...registered name Brother Bill.

He is a 6 yr. Old off tracker, dark dappled gray, related to some of the biggest names in racing, which is fun for a TB owner to find out. Doesn't mean anything, but it is interesting nonetheless.

He is descended from Native/Northern Dancer, His grandsire is Danzig, and on his dam's side he is related to Secretariat, Ribot, and his ancestry is traced all the way back to the Tetrarch through the amazing Mumtaz Mahal.....

He had five starts ....usually coming in in the middle of the pack. So as a racehorse he was not outstanding, just mediocre.

To us he is the most sane, agreeable, friendly excuse for a horse ever!!

How he looked when we bought him a year and a half ago, with a body score of 2:

What a little TLC and FOOD can do:

As you can see, he is very receptive to humans hugging, touching, hanging on him.... he is very human oriented, he does NOT get along with other horses however....

He is my "heart horse", we all just love his funny, quirky, lovable, in our pockets, cuddling ways.... he is a true love bug....more like a dog than a horse.

We love you, Beau!!

This is/was my boy, Slip Me the Key, aka Keeper. He passed away last fall, but he still stands as my best OTTB. He is out of Blue Slip by Key to the Mint. He won a great deal of money as a turf horse before being abandoned in a field of my friends. I owned him for 6 years. Once we figured out a feeding schedule, he lived off of air. Took as size 54 girth.

We competed 3'- 3'6" Hunters and Jumpers, trained through 1st level dressage and messed around with barrel racing, team penning, western pleasure (epic fail by the way), eventing and fox hunting.

The first photo is from the first year.... note the ribs. Try to find them in the later photos. Wish I could upload my show photos.

If your horse says no, you either asked the wrong question or asked the question wrong

And God took a handful of southerly wind, blew His breath over it and created the horse

Byron aka Gatlin

This is the OTTB that I lease, Byron. His racing name was Gatlin. Greatgrandson of Secretariat with 2 wins of 22 starts. He's 7 and has been off the track for two years. Skinny but gaining weight back from an illness bout this past spring.

He is so pretty!

I'm a cowgirl. I break horses, I wear jeans and boots and I play in the mud. (:
