Can you kind of critique him and tell me if you think he is gonna be a good prospect?

I love him....he's a throw back to the foundation....big neck and quite stocky.....IMO, just the way a Walker should look....and black to boot.....nice horse.

Can I get some insight here perhaps? I took possession of a TWH earlier this month. He's a great boy, used to be a cutting horse actually - but he's quite sleek and much slimmer than this boy. I agree this horse is a beautiful horse - but having never worked with TWH now I have to wonder if my gelding is too thin. He is food aggressive in the paddock, but at the same time he doesn't appear to be too thin. So tell me - is this what a healthy TWH looks like? He just seems SO stocky - so much stalkier than my Slim Jim (see my "barn" page) and please share any opinions you might have.

If I'm going off topic and I should start my own thread please just let me know - not trying to be rude, just learning.

I think the difference is bloodlines. From what I understand, Walkers used to be tanky and now the are bred to be lighter. Probably has something to do with showing, as that seems to turn most breeds from sturdy to light boned. Just look at what happened to Morgans. And heck, even Quarter Horses. They used to be big boned and now they are smaller boned and footed. Because I think the show people think it is "pretty." Or makes the horse more catty. Which makes me sad, because I like them sturdy. :-(

I really love the build of the horse in this thread.

wow that saddle isnt even in the right place let alone not fitting! lol I actually like him a lot better then 90% of the walkers ive come across, he is THICK! he has a very nice head and neck (I Love) but they do not look like a typical walker to me. He does have the walker back end though :) wish i could be more help but i don't really consider myself a TWH conformation expert so Ill leave that to someone else to handle

Its quite a bit to far back which will cause it to really dig into his shoulders and is causing it to pop up in the back like that. She says it wasnt a well fitting saddle to begin with so it might have done that a little bit anyways but if the saddle were moved a few inches forward it'd sit on him a lot nicer.
