We have two - my boy Bub (Mr. Wolverine
), and our new girl Mas Rapida
. We still need to come up with a barn name for her.
I love them because they're beautiful, calm, gentle (for the most part), and personable.
Bub is lazy. He's getting better, but when we first got him, he needed the encouragement of a crop to get him to even walk. God only knows how he ever won the races he did. I'm glad he's lazy though - I'd much rather a good parking brake that's always on than having a weak one that's fighting a high revving engine. He always does what we ask of him and is a source of endless entertainment (his favorite stall game is the 'feet in the bucket' game).
Mas is still a largely unknown quantity at this point, but we've got ample time to work with her, learn her and love her as she's only 4. She's extremely calm and unspooky, very personable and curious, and very gentle. She's actually so gentle that when being fed a carrot, she'll shave small bits off the end, and if handed a whole piece, she sometimes takes a tentative bite and then drops it, as though it were someones finger.
I've definitely been bitten by the TB bug, so I'm certainly biased in my affection for them. Bub
