Tracking my Thoroughbred

Soo I have registered with the australian stud book to gain access to the brand register only to find that not all babies born before 2003 can be found that way. I did manage to find out which stud my boy Hugo came from and have sent them an email asking them to let me know if they have any of his records. I was just wondering if seeing as I don't know his registered name anybody else might have any other ideas on how I can track him down just using his brands?
Which by the way are Lazy G 0 W and 9/3
He is a 16.1hh Bay Gelding
