So,does anybody has a warmblood in here?
Like a Belgian Warmblood,Selle Francais,Oldenburger..?
I have a Belgian warmblood,amazing animal.
His sire has a Selle francais bloodline and his dam has Thrakhener and Hanover blood.
I jump and dressage with him.

I was going to start a thread about this today.

What exactly is a Warmblood? I told someone yesterday that I had a Draft and they said "Oh, so you have a Warmblood".

A student has a really nice Selle Francais mare that she bred to a Selle Francais jumper stallion. Sadly, there is no Selle Francais registry in the U.S. Any more so the foal had to be inspected/registered as an Oldenburg.

Any number of the APPROVED WB registries that involve inspected that breed true BECAUSE of the long process of selective sire and dam breeding done over many many years.

They would be Hanoverian
Swedish just to name a few.

Some have a NA affiliate that are separate from the European origin and there are a couple here in NA that originated here.

The main thing is that crossing Joe stallion and molly mare DOES NOT produce a WB..even if it may by chance may move or look similar to a WB.

This refers in part to the incorrect assumption that any cold blood crossed with any hot blood ( like a draft x TB) is automatically a WB.
