All of my children have learnt to ride on Welsh Ponies and I have FIVE... four girls and one boy to be exact....and I have two welsh ponies at present... one sec A, Jack and one sec B Tu who at moment is turned out after a summer of being broken by me and ridden, He is a future pony for my youngest child who is seven.... although all of my kids learnt to ride not all of them will be long term riders, but in saying that when we go to Granddads who has many horses all of my children ride and I attribute that to learning to ride on a welsh pony. They are gutsy little tikes who are constantly testing the kids...but when they go well you just can't beat them...and I must say I love Quarter horses and I love Arabs BUT I love the Welsh Ponies the most. Also they are beautiful and make an awesome childs mount... It has a lot to do with how you treat them and how much you ride them..... :)

I totally agree with your Tumai! I learnt to ride on a welsh pony, and all through my childhood the pony I had, had some amount of welsh in him. I think they're great for kids, safe and sensible, yet fab all rounders for the more experienced.
I've got a section A, who my four year old daughter rides. He's an angel, although can be alittle wick sometimes, but he's sensible, loving and we adore him! And they're both doing so well together.

    Welsh Ponies are fantastic!!
