I voted quarter horse because there are probably more of them out there...but i've seen some pretty scrappy appys (in a good way...they dug in and down right flew!)

I voted paint because, Quarter Horses, Appaloosas and Paints are all stock breeds, all with similar conformation so they'll all fair the same really. I'm just a sucker for paints.

What else? Paints of course, but our kissing cousin QHs are OK, too ....smart, quick and rock solid.

I say go for whatever individual horse you find that can compete well in what you want to ride in. It could be any of the horses you listed!

For what you want to do I don't think that those breeds posted are any different from one or another. Because of the sizes you want a QH will probably be better. They tend to be more patient and tolerable of most things.

Cheers

i agree I just said AQH because that's what I rodeo on. I have never had a paint or appy but would like a paint one day. All 3 of those APH and appies and AQH are all stock breeds and pretty similar besides color lol

I think paints would be a great choice, especially for western pleasure.
