What breed is this?

Okay, so I found this image on google, under a horse color's website that had this as an example with no other info with it. I REALLY like this horse! I have NEVER seen anything so huge and stocky. What breed is he?

Looks like an Ardennes.

In fact, wiki has that exact picture...

Oh cool, apperently they are very rare, and they use them for meat production according to wiki! :O what a waste, I'd have a whole stable of them if I could X)

Yep, he's an Ardennes. There are a few in the US. A breeder in Florida is crossing these with Gypsy Horses.

Agree with others, I plan to have atleast one of these, as a dream. I've wanted one since I was about 8 and first saw the breed, haha.
I think they would make a near perfect trail blazing horse, all they'd have to do is walk through first, haha. Wouldn't even have to cut our trails, just take one like him and walk through them all. :p
I'm under the impression that they're more-so used for both meat production and pulling compared to as riding horses though. :/
I just adore their huge necks and enormous legs. *drool*

I don't know the people personally. Try a google search and it might bring something up. As to the 'why' - who knows.
