What Breed of Horse does this look like?

Hello,
I am new here and this is my first post. I adopted a horse from a rescue a month ago. The rescue purchased him the day before the horses were going to be shipped. He isn't registered, but that doesn't bother me, I was just wondering what breed he looks like to you. The rescue believes that he is a thoroughbred but I don't really see it. He is 2 and half years old and is in the process of gaining weight.

P.s.Sorry the pictures are not that great of angles but will get better ones soon. Also, his hooves look bad in these photos, but the farrier came the day after they were taken.

How tall is he?

His head doesn't look like a TB to me, it's kind of short and stubby (2nd to last pic), and just says QH or Paint to me. Looks like he has really small feet for a TB too. His withers almost touch the sky though! Maybe it's the way his neck ties into them that make it look so dramatic.

He's a cutie though, that's for sure! No matter the breed I'm sure you can still have lots of fun with him.

Yes, his withers appear very big. I think his withers are tall but they look even more dramatic by how his neck connects. And yes Zeke, he is lots of fun. He is super sweet but shy around other horses. He got picked on a lot at the rescue he was at.

His height... he is around 15 hh, I haven't measured him yet but I know he isn't much higher that that though because I'm 5'7 and his (TALL) withers are near my chin.

He looks like an appendix to me. I see TB in everything, except for his head.

Hard to tell until he gains more weight/muscle. His face doesn't really resemble a TB's to me. Could possibly be a cross or maybe even a Standardbred...

His withers look to me like they stand out due to lack of muscling and fat. I agree though that he looks like he may be an appendix. Very cute little boy, and am glad that you decided to rescue a horse. I can't wait to see how he grows and changes as you work with him.
