We don't know anything about Skye's (the other horse) breeding either. All we know is he's a horse, who acts a lot like an oversized dog and we love him dearly! He is another rescue at the barn I am boarding at! Guesses at him too are welcomed!

Ohh definitely Araby... everything about him looks Araby! ;) I'd bet he's an Arab or Arab cross. He's a cutie! ;)

His neck is so long and straight and upright, and he's so light and balanced, I'm guessing... saddlebred? That's the first thing that came to my mind, although I'm really not familiar with that breed, so I'm not sure... Arabians, right up my alley though, haha.

Skye looks to me like he's got some TB in him. And yet he also reminds me of my friend's Oldenburg/Hanoverian only not as chubby.

Scout only ever looks Welsh...or something....to me in pics like this. I think it's the super thick, upright neck. He stands like this fairly often. Not only when he was just busted for getting ready to crib!!! Ugh! And it could just be me...he could be all arab for all I know. We play this same game with our rescue dogs! Maybe I'll get them DNA tested one day, just for the heck of it!

And I just wanna say that the more I see that picture of Skye, the more I fall in love with his legs and feet... really long and straight, with good, big hooves.

Some arabs can get a neck like this when they are gelded late :) Not that I'm purposely disagreeing, just saying keep your mind open :)

Whatever he is, he is adorable, I love that head and face!

Oh I agree with you completely....and with his super pushy (atleast initially) attitude my guess was that he was gelded late! He is also the leader of the herd already, and his somewhat studdy manners may be what has landed him all of the lovely bite scars on his neck and body!
I am with you there, no worries! I mean really, he's a gelding...the only thing registration, or knowing lineage would do for me is give me a potential heads up to problems and an exact birthdate.
If he's all arab, I'm cool with that! He's a little guy, but I'm only 5'3" so that works just fine for me!

    Soenjer...
It isn't a great pic, but here is him moving. He ALWAYS has that great big head held high! He is such a love! He is just the coolest horse, and always just seems to float through life!

Here's the pics of my friend's Oldenburg/Hanoverian. I think I do see some similarities. I could be wrong though. Oh, and she's pretty huge too!
