Oh Cute Emily! I wonder if maybe he's a welsh hackney cross? Hackney was one of my first guesses but I'm not sure - but he's got such a different look to him. He's got perfectly shaped little horse ears and a tiny little roman nose xD
I torture him by braiding him xD

You know, a lot of the modern Shetlands, look almost exactly like him. So do many of the larger, modern Minis. Google Silver bay Shetland and then click on 'images'. There are several there which look almost identical.

Well not that exact coloring, but some can be VERY dark. No silver obviously, but I'm just saying it shouldn't be completely ruled out.

We have a mini/shetland cross that looks a lot like him. She is about the size of a shetland, but the with the build of the mini.

But if you imagine the mane and tail a different color, can you see any Haffy in there? I don't really, Welsh, cross Shetland type, maybe, but we'll probably never know, and I'd be happy to file him under 'darn cute' and have done.

Very true, but he was in a truck of Haffies she said. But he is pretty dang short.

But then again my Haffie was in with a load of Belgians. :P

Maybe, but our "hackney" (don't know whether she is part Shetland or not) has more of a refined look to her head/body, more dainty looking.

I would have to agree she looks more Shetland (ish) with that mane and head.. I'll post some pictures of our Shetland that we used to have.

I would say though that both your pony and ours don't have the typical Shetland pony belly... American shetlands don't have the belly either...

Here's some American Shetlands to compare.
