Here's some info about me:
6ft tall, heavier rider, long legs, wants to show but in nothing particular, ride western, English doesn't feel practical to me (cowgirl at heart)
Here's what I'm looking for:
A good old trail horse, one who can also be used for carts, and general showing. Working cattle would be a plus.
I love both Quarter horses, and Shires. Quarter horse might be the better choice for the long term, but can I really find one tall enough and with good bone structure for a heavy rider? Also, what about driving a cart? A Shire horse is perfect - for now. In the future, I'd love to work cattle, which isn't what a shire is made for. But, they have the strength and height and can pull a cart!
