What Breed is this Spotted Mutt Pony?

Rascal is a very odd looking pony. He stands about 13.2 hands. He was picked, along with an older Dartmoor gelding, from a field somewhere in rural someplace.

He is some kind of cross, I'm sure. I have no idea between what. My pet theory is Arab/Shetland.

If it's signifcant, he also has black gums. 0.o In the words of his former owner: "Holy s***t, he's part chow!"

Also, what kind of crazy color is this beast? He's got some spotty dappley funk going on. Reminds me of moldy bread, in the best way possible.

I don't know what he is, but I know for sure that he is freaking ADORABLE!! Love his coloring! I might have my sister-in-law go steal him from you (they live near Atlanta ).

Now that you mention it, tiny, he actually reminds me A LOT of my friend's arab mare (she's 14hh on her tiptoes )...except a different color, obviously. Maybe a little stouter than Cassie, but the same general build, for sure.

I agree with the pinto going grey for color...as for breed...

Im going with strait up mini...why?

For one the difference in a pony and a mini is that a ponys legs are technically too short for its body (if my brain isnt failing me) but a mini has the exact same confo as a full grow horse just small. His legs look the right length...not to short and he's extremely well built.

Second: A LOT of mini's have that arab look to them...there is a whole farm of show mini's down the road from me who look just like miniature arabians 0.0

Whatever he is he looks lovely!

I'm terrible with breeds, but he's a gray tobiano as far as colour goes. He'll lighten up more as he gets older.
