He's gorgeous whatever he is. He could also be a welsh pony cross.

Thanks for all the spotted pony love! This will inflate Rascal's ego nicely. Maybe it'll make up for me calling him bleu cheese sandwich/buffalo sauce all of yesterday. :P

Maybe he is a minature cross. He doesn't look like a pony, technically speaking. He looks like a short horse. Minis also come in pinto and gray. He's just a bit large to be straight mini.

Mini/large horse? It isn't an uncommon cross.

I'm going to guess that he is a welsh cob/shetland cross, because i saw an ad for one for sale once and its body structure was very similiar to his, but i don't really know. He sure is gorgeous though whatever he is:) As for color he looks like a dappled gray paint and like someone else mentioned, his color will most likely fade some as he matures.

I have no idea of the breed, but he's freakin' adorable. I also agree that he is a little gray pony, though.

He is so refined I think he is Pinto going grey and crossed with a Hackney Pony because he is so well put together.

Thanks again for the compliments, everyone! He is definitely a pretty boy!

I can see a little Hackney... Now I'm leaning towards either that, miniature cross, American type shetland cross, or super tiny Arab cross.

Not very narrowed down, but we're getting somewhere! I'm going to take a few more conformation type pictures. Maybe some new angles will help.
