What color is she?

This is Jewel, a coming 2 yr. Old warmblood filly. What color would you say she is? Her mother was about the same color, father is black.

The insides of her ears are blonde/palomino, no dorsal stripe, mane is blackish/bleached blonde.

She's got dark legs & dark tips on her ears, so assuming that the lighter colours on her fetlocks are just mud, I'd say she's bay. My boy was bay, but he had sections of "strawberry blonde" in his mane as well, especially after spending time in the FL sun. She could also just be brown, but it can be hard to tell sometimes since both colours are pretty closely linked genetically.

I'm no good with colors but could she be smoky black?

CPEA The Smoky Black Color

She looks like pictures I've seen of confirmed (genetically tested) smoky black horses...

She's definitely cute, whatever she is!

I'm leaning more toward very dark bay, but it is possible she's a smoky black. Does the dam or sire have a cream gene anywhere in their bloodline? We have a smoky black stud colt at the farm and he is iron gray freshly shed out with white in his tail, but it can express in many ways. Some you can't even tell.

Bay...

I'm not arguing with you, I'm just explaining why I'm right.
