I am no expert, but would like to have a crack so that the colour legends can come in and tell me I was wrong lol.

Her base colour looks like a really nice bay. It is a good rich strong colour :)

The white crosses her spine, which indicates Tobiano. I think that tobianos are supposed to have solid colour on their legs, which makes me think that there is another pinto type working on her, but I wouldn't know much more than that lol

I think maybe some sabino? I generally assume that the patches have to be 'rough' like a clydey IYKWIM but I also know that white on the lower lip is associated with sabino.

Ok, those are my guesses... *sits back waiting for an expert...*

She is a cute tho, I love her!

I know they are supposed to have high stockings, but thought that the colour should cover some of the leg at some point... As I said, I am in no way an expert, I was just throwing my hat in the ring :)

Definately bay and definately tobiano. She also has an overo gene, and I'm seeing splash with the possibility of frame as well. If you're going to breed her, test for frame.

CheyAut, you are one of those experts I was talking about :)

Could you explain what makes you see Overo, Splash and Frame for us laypeople?

Splash and frame are both overos (as are sabino and dominant white).

Tobiano doesn't put white on the face, so you know there's at least one overo.

The way the blaze gets bottom heavy and kinda goes off the side is a splash trait.

Frame can hide (can be so minimal you'd think a horse was solid), so it's always important to test before breeding to make sure there's no chance of homozygous (aka lethal white). But the top of the blaze and the way the white is on the side of the neck makes me a bit suspicious there's frame there.

There's also something about the way the white presents itself on the body that is saying to me there's something more than tobiano, and for some reason it's saying splash to me, but I can't quite put my finger on WHY I feel that way ;)

Very pretty by the way :) Any photos of her parents? They might help show what she could have.

I think bay tobiano, the white on her face looks like a blaze face marking to me.

Keep your feet on the ground when your head's in the clouds.
