Honestly it depends on the breed and genetics. Looks like Pluckey is a pony, possibly Shetland. Then it would be SILVER DAPPLE which is modification of the "Z" color gene which dilutes BLACK. But you can also find Silver in the red based horse coats as well. This fellow appears to be a SILVER DAPPLE BLACK. ;) Hope that helps!

Forgot to mention, palomino is a CREME gene from Chestnut. Rocky mountain horses can also be silver dapple, but that would never be considered palomino, yes a dilution it is but not palomino. Chocolate palomino is a Chestnut based horse who is cremed to palomino with a sooty gene. Complicated stuff is the world of color. ;) I know some, but just the tip of the iceberg......now don't ask me about Appies cause I've got NO clue!

Also Rocky Mountain people refer to their horses as "Chocoloate" but I am pretty sure they are just Silver Dapples genetically speaking.
