Question What do you think of cross breeds ?

I absouletly love them just because it is wild to think of the possibilities I want a minixpercheron when I grow up now talk about wild. I also think that some good breeds have come of crossbreeds like morab, georgian grande , and national show horse. I love to think of the millions of combinations that you can make. I love cross breeds. I love them ! What do you think ????

    Foal
I have mixed feelings on them.. Don't get me wrong, when certain breeds are crossed, wonderful horses come out of them. For example - sport horses that are great for jumping (my favorite of riding!) can be a draft with a thoroughbred.. Even better, there could be some unique coloring to them. I've seen a few places like that where I will definitely be getting a foal from because of that. On the other hand, I don't like certain mixes for some reason because they can be great horses for a beginning owner or someone just trying to do something that's not SUPER challenging, but they're usually so limited. I think appendix horses are my least favorite, I hate to say it. Rarely do I ever see an ad with one that I like :P But then again, I love my horses to be big!

    Foal
Personally it depends on the breeds being crossed. I own an Appendix and I love him to death he's 16.2 and acts more like a thoroughbred. But then again I've seen some Appendix's that were unattractive in many ways. I do NOT believe that crosses are limited in any way. I would prefer a purebred, but that's not to say that an Appedix or any other cross couldn't kick a purebreds butt in anything they may be doing. It all depends on the horse and the rider and their level of training.

Why? I do hope nobody breeds such a cross. Absolutely no need for such silly experimental crosses. Are some crosses nice? Of course, but thousands of crosses are produced yearly, with little or no thought.

I love Jesse, but he was an accident (result of a Hanoverian stallion who liked to jump). Some crosses are wonderful especially if they have good conformation. It's a little confusing but crosses such as Oldenburgs and Trakehners, Trakehners and Thoroughbreds, or Oldenburgs and Hanoverians (just to name a few) can still be registered.

Cloud my colt is Peruvian Paso/TB. I can't wait to see how he turns out:) He's 8 months now and I'm so excited because I saw him gaiting for the first time!!!I also can't wait to see how big he gets. His sire was 14H but mom was 15.3H so.... I don't really care but I would like him to be at least 14.3H....will see...

If they are crossed for good reason because they compliment each other and produce a quality horse, I like them.

I like crosses, as long as they are for a good reason. If it's to improve a horse, than I really like them. But if it's just a stallion and a few mares thrown out in a pasture poppin' out cross foals like crazy, than it's not really a good thing.

But I've seen alot of beautiful crossbreeds. Aswell as quite a few uglies, but if they have someone to love them, than it's acceptable.

He's looking so good Cloudkisser! I'm hoping someday my baby might gait (he's 1/2 Foxtrotter), but so far he just trots and gallops EVERYWHERE.

I like crosses. I have no problem with crosses or grades what-so-ever.
