You are right...a couple of inches more in height doesn't bother me.

Thanx, Fehr. Friday is the day...I am excited, but then kicking myself with "do you really need another horse???" I have been trying to justify this purchase...so was thinking about doing something like taking her to places, like retirement homes, hospitals (not sure how sanitary that would be...hmmm) so that people who do not have access to animals could enjoy her....this is in the very early stages of thought and I still have to research.

You will have to post pics in the spring after you body clip her! I am wanting to lean toward silver bay. Also I did the math on her for you at 31 inches in height at 5 months she should mature at 37 inches give or take half an inch. She is a cutie.
Using minis as embasidors is a great thing to do with them. One of the biggest request I get is "can you bring your mini". Mine do parades, nursing home visits ( we do stay outside for now), breed demos, and more. Start your mini early and the training and desensitizing goes really quick.

Thanx for all the info, Miniature shetlands and taking the time to calculate her height. Even though, personally, it wouldn't matter to me if she grew taller than the 38", I would like to register her. I know her mom is 32". I would really love to visit the nursing homes and such...I love sharing my big horses with people. I will research it more and would love any info you care to share! My husband wants to train her to pull a cart, so being a bit of a bigger mini will probably be good for that!

Wellllllll...picked up my mini on Friday! Didn't get to mess with her at all Friday (12 hours on the road), played with her a little bit on Saturday...got to play with her ALL DAY on Sunday. She is a little doll ! She follows us all over the place and winnies if she can't see someone...sooo cute. I am thinking that once she gets comfortable here, that might all change, but I hope not!

She is quite the furball! Where she lived it is very cold...12 degrees on the morning she made the trip. The seller said that minis have to be shaved...that they will not shed off completely like big horses. Does anyone have any info on this??? Will put pics up as soon as I upload them from the camera!

Oh Yah! Forgot...her name is Anni. She was born on my wedding anniversary.

Just reread miniature shetland's post and it said "when you body shave her in the spring"...so there is my answer about shaving...lol
