So i posted this is a different forum realizing after that there is an actual one about breeds so here it is again!
I know shes a Pinto, but usually they have more to their background like
EX. saddlebred, quaterhorse etc.
And i was wondering what you guys think she is because im not to sure!
thanks!
haha yeah i know shes pinto, but they usually have more to them then just being pinto/paint, thats usually more their colour, although it seems pintos/paints have started to become their own, well to me it seems lol.
Paint is a breed (and has been for quite a while, a large majority of them have QH and TB breeding), pinto is a color.
It's hard to tell without proper conformation pictures or movement videos but something makes me want to say she looks like a Paint crossed with some sort of gaited breed.
She has a nice broad chest, which makes me think quarter, but her thighs aren't as bulky- does she have feather feet? How old is she?
Sorry, throwing questions out. But age helps tell what she is muscle wise, and Appy's have feather feet!! So do draft breeds... do any of the gaited breeds have feathered feet?
Definitely quarter in there, but her neck and slightly less bulky quarters also makes me think either saddlebred like others have said (though I haven't seen many of these in person and have no good picture of them in my mind). She could also just have been bred Paint to a Thoroughbred or Standardbred... there's something thinner in her than just straight paint. If she's got some feathering at her feet maybe standardbred? I know the farm I'm at all the mares/babies have feathers in the cooler months. I'm not really a good judge though.
If you look in another thread on this board about a paint cross - there's some photos of standardbreds.... The more I look at her, the more I think standardbred
