What do you think she is crossed with?

My mare is registered with the AHQHA (american half quarter horse association) and that her dam was either a TW or a TB. Which do you think it was? (Please note the pictures have a gap, the first two are from two weeks ago [still in winter jammies], and the last two are her as a comming 4 yo)

Thanks!!

PS any advice on how to pull a main would be MUCH appriciated! As you can see by the pictures, I have no clue!

I believe the only cross the AQHA allows is with a TB so if she is registered it has to be a TB.

Edit to add:

Oops, read it again and it is some off shoot registry.... Never mind.

I have no idea on the breeding. To pull a mane though I was taught - take a wide tooth comb, wrap a small section of mane around the comb 2-3 times and pull very quickly. Hope this helps. Good luck

There are a lot of QHs who look very thoroughbredy, but I have to agree and Appendix is what I'm thinking as well.

I have never ever heard of the "AHQHA" registry.

If one parent was registered as an AQHA, and another was a reg TB through the Jockey Club, she could be registered in the AQHA as an appendix.

I just see QH and TB. She looks like a very kind mare.

Agree on the other half being Thoroughbred.

passion is when you put more energy into something than is required to do it. it is more than just enthusiasm or excitement, passion is ambition that is materialized into action to put as much heart, mind, body and soul into something as is possible. // <3 starlite - dream - lady - georgia
