Red face Your opinion needed?!

Okay probably all of us have at one stage seen the saddle club? The TV show. Well I got thinking, the third season is terrible. They replaced every single character and its not very good... ANYWAY I love horses and like filming, so I thought maybe I should at least try to make a TV show? I know it will be incredible hard and expensive, but i'll at least try. SO I would like your opinion on a few things.

1. What breeds of horses should I use?
-Need to be calm
-Easy to teach

*maybe palomino*

2. Where should it be set?
-Beautiful and green

3. Character names
-Horses, 2 main (mare & stallion) 10 (minor, any gender)
- 2 girls (main) 5 girls (minor) 4 boys (minor) 3 adults (minor)

This is what I have for the main people so far:

P.s, it needs a bit of improvement, I just wrote it vary late at night.

Kelly is girly, classy, and sophisticated. She loves horses and owns an expensive stallion called Polo who is strong, graceful and a wonderful jumper.
Andy is an outcast, until she meets Jessica. Andy wears boys clothes and has an outrageous style of thinking. She’s courageous and bright. Andy owns a mare who is loving and sweet.

5 girls:
Rebecca: A seventeen-year-old stable hand, who is into horses, fashion and writing. Friends with Rachel.
Rachel: A beginner who befriends Rebecca. Rides a school horse.
Indigo: A new riding student, she is very quiet and independent. She’s a strong rider. Has a horse called Thunder.
Jenifer: A glamorous, rich rider who takes advantage of the horses and her fellow riders. She’s not a very nice person. Owns an expensive horse.
Nora: A very neutral girl. She’s friends with everyone. But her place is with the boys normally. Rides a school horse.

4 Boys:
Nathan: Stuck up and a know it all. Riley’s good friend. Has a horse called Roco.
Riley: Friends with Nathan. Is quiet and doesn’t say a lot. Rides a school horse because he has one year of experience.
Fred: Nora’s best friend. He’s very talkative and loud, only Nora knows how to shut him up. Rides his own horse Lucky, a mare.
Lenny: A bit of a nerd, but has growing talent as a rider.

3 Adults:
Harry: Runs the stables with his sister Kaity. It’s a hard job but worth it to work with horses.
Kaity: A lively, fun filled owner who works together with her brother.
Sarah: A strict lesson instructor that helps with teaching occasionally.

That girl ANdy you described is EXACTLY like me loll .

I think that you're are really on to something!! My question is DO you want to like make it for kids like Saddle Club, or m aybe like something more adult?? I would love love love a show like Saddle Club, but with young men and women with real life problems like on One Tree Hill!

Thats a pretty good question. Hmmm, maybe young adult to adult? Yeah like one tree hill or the OC, but with horses, and set more in the country. So it will like focus on horses and riders, but there will be an element of love and drama in it too.

Please please please PLEASE don't make it stereotypical!

You want new fresh ideas with different characters and a whole idea that is completely separate from the Saddle Club (which I loved when I was younger :))

Hahaha yeah, I loved the saddle club too.
I know, last night I was wondering ways I could make it totally different. Like how the main characters meet, I didn't want to make it like one of them start at the riding school. So i'm trying to think of other ways.

I find that quarter horses are very calm and easy to teach, although there are som who can be pretty spunky!

I used to love watching the saddle club, I think this is a very good idea id love to see the show!

Thanks :)
Quarter horses seem the way to go.
I'd really like to make the show, i'd have to do alot of research into the area I should film in, and funding of corse. It will be hard, but i'd like to do it.

breeds of horses, tv shows
