It depends on what you do. If you are a show jumper, you choose what you think is best for that. If you are a dressage rider, then you choose what you think is best for that.

I think in these times, terms like Ponies and Stock Horses definately have to be added to the range of definition or they're left out.

Either way, I'm definately more of a hot blooded person. I prefer the horses with quite a bit of pep and vinegar, ones with good speed and stamina. More directly, I'm hopelessly obsessed with Arabs.

However, I like them because of what they're good at. If I ever got into jumping, I'd definately be turning my eye more to the Warmblood category, or possible still a Thoroughbred.

I'm really interested in some gaming, so I actually bought a 2 year old Paint filly. Haha, she may not be much better at it then my Arab, but I think she's a lot more likely to be (my Arab doesn't have the power on her haunches) so I was happy looking into other breeds.

It all depends on what my interest is, and it tends to change a lot! I like doing EVERYTHING, I swear!
That is what I was thinking, I am without a doubt a stock horse guy, and how are they rated in this thread.

A good cowboy always has a better horse at the end of the ride, a poor cowboy will be afoot reguardless of the horse.
