This is another one of my horses pasture mates. He is a gelding. I do not own him. He is a mustang quarter horse X. He is a bay, but is he a bay, or Cherry/red bay?

I think he is just a bay, but not sure.

Here are pics:

These are the best pictures I could get.

Hes bay. Bay is bay is bay. Genetically, all bays are the same.

^^ This.

But, just wanted to add that many horses change 'shade' over their lifetime and even seasonally (due to environmental factors or nutitrion, for example). There are a lot of descriptors out there that people use to describe the exact shade a horse is, but they're not scientific terms, and it doesn't mean that horse will always be described by the same word. A horse that is described as blood bay right now might be a bright coppery bay next season. And you'll even find that people have a different idea of what those terms even mean.

Breezy do you have permission from the owners of these horses to even be posting these pictures (this horse and the other one I mean)?

Yes, I do, I would not be posting them if I didn't. I am allowed to post them on facebook, and stuff, so I don't see why not on here. I am the one who took the pics, and spends the most time with them... so they don't have a problem what I do with the pics.
