Color Question

Hi everyone :)

I purchased a 15.3 hand grey QH. I know that grey is just a "masking" color and my horse will eventually change color. For the few months I have owned him, I was assuming he would white out in a few years. Now I'm noticing that my horse is starting to have a few flecks of a rosy brown in a few spots. Will my grey horse possibly turn brown? If it helps, he was born a bay!

No two greys grey out the same. Some will go dappled, then turn what's called "rose grey" (kind of a brownish grey), then go white. Others will skip dapple and rose and go to flea-bitten and stay there for a while. Still others will stay dappled for a long time before finally changing. I have a friend with a 15yo dappled grey TB gelding who has been dappled for almost ten years and hasn't changed much, if at all, in that time.
