Ok, so all three of my paints are listed as tobiano's, but upon trying to research why my two mares have different patterns, I am just confusing myself more. They will be color coat tested next year prior to breeding, but I just want to see what others think in the meantime. I believe Vana, the mare with the cent brand and white hairs in her pattern might also have sabino traits, while Lexi, is a more "clean lined" tobiano. Vana has a grey mom and dad was sorrel tobiano, and Lexi a grulla overo mom and dad is sorrel tobiano (she has been tested N/N for all 5 diseases).
I have also included my colt Flint, who is the medicine hat, which I read is an overo trait. Would that mean he is tovero then?
Anyone have opinions on what genetics might be at play?
Also (and this may be a really stupid question but I have not seen anything on it), how does one go about inserting a picture and then describing the picture either above and below it (instead of a lengthy explanation like this, lol)?
