Cremello Testing?

I was just wondering if there are any other color tests I should have run on Maysie. I know she's homozygous for Cream (chestnut version) but I haven't gotten in deep with cremello DNA yet. On the calculator is asks about Agouti and the Silver gene. Should I have her tested for these? This is just to add to her file at home :) Please let me know what you guys think?

What colours are her parents? If neither is silver it is not worth testing for as she would be negative

The calculator asks those questions for almost every color.

It would depend on her parents, like dunfold said. If her parents aren't silver, she isn't. You could test for agouti if you want because it can and does hide on red-based horses.

Is there a particular reason you're testing her? If she's a cremello, a foal will automatically have a single copy of the cream gene, which cuts out a lot of colors right there.

I like to learn alot about these color or disease genetics. As far as having her tested I'm curious and $20 isn't terrible for curious ventures :P. Her sire and dam were both Palominos. I don't know about the grand parents at all :S on all breed pedigree it doesnt say.

If she's registered, then it might say on her papers. The APHA lists colors on their papers anyway, not sure about any other breed association.

You could test for silver and agouti if you'd like. Agouti would be far more likely, as silver isn't exactly common. Both "hide" on red-based horses, so if her parents were palomino, you wouldn't know about either.
