DNA tests for breed

My sister is curious about her geldings bloodlines, but unfortunately we aren't even 100% sure of his breed. We think he's a QH, maybe an Appendix. I heard something about being able to test dog's for their breed now, does anyone know if you can do this with horses? I've tried looking it up but all I've been finding is DNA tests for color.

Those tests are worse than useless. They are a complete and utter waste of money, and as far as I know they do not have one available for horses.

Yep they are a waste. Dogs of know breeding/breed type have tested as some really strange mixes. So no worth it.

Most horse breeds are offshoots from other breeds so it's hard to test for a specific breed. Example Thoroughbreds would show Arabian.

Ya im not sure how accurate the dog ones are.... I know a huge very tall dog who tested as a boxer/poodle. He doesnt look one little bit of either of those breeds, and he's way too tall to just be a mix of those two breeds....

It would be cool if they had one for horses though !
