Gelding: What color/pattern?

Hello!

I want to upload some pictures of my gelding, Roux, to see what people thought of his pattern, color and maybe if they think he has some mustang in him. He has no papers and I wouldn't have him tested (because it doesn't matter anyway) I am just curious!

He has one brown eye and one blue eye. He has a light color mane and tail that are a gingery color. (That is why I named him Roux because it means red hair.)

He has two white hooves and two black hooves. He has two white socks (on the same side) and two brown. He has no primitive markings on his legs and no dorsal stripe.

The white does cross his neck and he has a white stripe about 2 inches wide in his mane, that is the only place where the white crosses.

On a side note, I believe that he is at least part Mustang. First, mustangs are not uncommon where I live. Physical characteristics that remind me of a mustang are his thick wavy mane, his short back?, huge wide head, curved butt, and low tail. His hooves will also never need shoes, they are hard, wide and require very little maintenance. He is about 15.1hh.

More importantly his personality and quirks are so similar to a mustang I trained a few years ago. I could go on and on but I will just point out that he is the most alert horse on the trail and will tell you about another horse, dog or person long before you can see or hear them. And he reacts (spooks) like a mustang, if you know what I mean . His gaits are also identical to the mustang I rode in the past especially his canter.

He is a Sorrel/Chesnut. With the flaxen gene (mane and tail) He does appear to be liver in shade. That can vary with seasons.

and his white patterns are frame (causing the blue eye) and Sabino (the roaning in certain areas/jagged edges around the white)

Liver Chestnut with flaxen for color. For patterns he is Frame: irregular horizontal white and the little to no white on the legs. Frame does not like color on the legs.
I would say he is likely splash too. With the smooth bottom heavy face white and the way the white look on his legs. It's smooth instead of jagged like sabino would do. And he is probably sabino as well since the white has avoided the eyes. Sabino like to keep white away from around the eye.

Thanks everyone! He really is a sweet boy.

Liver Chestnut with a Flaxen mane is what I think too.
I was thinking frame as well and think that Sabino is probably accurate.

Thank you for your input!

I think he is frame, and splash personally.

Frame is obvious and is the cause of the vast majority of his white.

Splash really likes to have white drop off the side of the face and prefers bottom heavy face markings.

Frame or splash could also be the cause of the blue eye.

I also think he is sabino, he has some light roaning which sabino loves to do and his front sock is also rather jagged looking.

I agree with the general opinion - liver chestnut frame sabino. Super unique looking horse!
