I have a coming 7 month old aqha filly out of a chestnut mare and palomino stud. She still has her baby/winter coat and im curious what people think she will be shed out to be. She's like a dark/liver chestnut color right now, she has some kind of roaning on one her rear legs (hopefully will get pics of it soon) and a faint dorsal strip down her back. Any guesses :)? Pictures below;
Both her parents are red based so she is definitely a chestnut and looks to be a liver chestnut in color. She is pretty maybe she will keep some of that flaxen I love flaxen chestnuts!
I agree with dark/liver chestnut, possibly with some degree of flaxen in her mane & tail.
The "dorsal" would just be countershading unless one of her parents was dun
As for the white flecking, that is typically caused by the sabino gene, though photos of the parents would help with that as well ;)
All you can do, really, is wait for her to shed out
Even in the last photo if you look right at her coronet band there is lighter brown hair, which is a good indicator of red base. I agree with liver chestnut, though there is a chance that her foal shed is much darker than what her mature color will be (not uncommon).
