    Horses branding.

    Hi there,
I'm not sure if I have the right thread, but I will give it a shot. I am purchasing a Thoroughbred gelding and I am very curious to find out about his markings. Could someone please help me out?
Name: Beau (Not sure if has been changed or not)
    Height: 16-16.2hh
    Breed: Thoroughbreed
    Colour: Bay
Markings: white star and a little white sock on his left hind leg.

    His markings are all on one side, which is the left and it has a little symbol, hard to explain what it is, and under that it is set up like this;
    SM.

Could somebody please help me out? It would be absoloutely fantastic!

Im not quite sure what your question is?
The SM would be the Stud's brand
Top number ( 3) means he is the 3rd foal born at that stud farm
Bottom number (0) is the year he was born...Do you know how old he is?
    Either 2010, 2000, or 1990....My guess is 12 years old? :P
    Hope this helps

    Yes, he's 12 years old! :)
Sorry for not making it clear, haha! Just wondering what his race name was and just some basic information on him.

Are you in the US? If so, he should have a lip tattoo. All racing TB's should have them (not sure if Jockey Club registered TB's who aren't raced are required to have them or not?)

    Yearling
If he's a racing TB with a brand, I'm guessing somewhere in the UK or Aus. I know I was helping someone find information on their Aussie TB through the online stud book. Narrowed it down a bit, but never quite figured it out.
