How much of a possibility is there?

Hello :)
I was wondering, I just saw a mare who has pure knapstrup lines(both sire and dam have spots) but she is black all over, even no small markings that I can see from any of the pictures.
My friend is thinking of buying her colt, who is still very young at the moment(0,5years), but he doesn't express any spots..

Now the thing that interests me, is even though the colts dam is all black, how much of a possibility is it that the colt would produce spotted offspring in the future?

This is just out of my pure curiosity toward genetics and I'm not experienced at all when it comes to spots  also, the colt would probably be gelded so no, we're not just trying to geta foal with flashy markings. Just would be interesting to know.

Does the colts sire have any white markings? If not, then odds are he doesn't carry any white marking genes.

He could still produce pinto offspring, but he'd have to be bred to a pinto mare to do so :)

No, not like that. The sire has white socks and a blaze but I'm quite sure thats not what you mean, lol.

So basically no, the colt wouldn't give any pinto babies, when bred to a non-pinto mare?
Oh well, I guess the possibility would be very, very slim.

Thank you :)
