If you think your horse has Rabicano....

My friend bought a new horse, he is the textbook definition of rabicano. I forgot to take a picture of his coon tail but I'll try to get one this weekend. Here is cowboy, AQHA three year old. Photos posted with permission.

My mare was rabicano for a few hours..because the top of her tail was all frosted.

I had never heard of it referred to as "coon" tail. I'd always heard it described as "skunk" tail. When I think coontail I think striped bands.

Generally my mind always translates it into literal raccoon-like tail, rings and all. I just never heard of it called that.
