I'm really interested in the whole pinto colors..

Well, here's my guy that I used to own, now living his days in Texas:)
I always just thought he was a tobiano, plain and simple. But then I learn from another thread that doesn't cause blue eyes..sooooo.....
What is he? A tovero? lol
His dam was a sorrel and his sire was a grulla. His papers say red dun, but he had no dun markings, other than a faint dorsal stripe that I would consider countershading if even that.

he is tobiano and splash

as for the red dun...I'd need to see different pics of him. I've seen some very "chestnut" looking red duns before...and the dirty pic of him almost wants me to say he is.

He didn't have any dun markings other than his tail been half black (most red duns I know have half black tails lol). He had a mealy color on his flanks and muzzle (forgot what it's called).
But that's good to know!:)

the black in the tails is usually due to sooty..I know a lot of palominos, chestnuts and duns with super dark hair in the lower half of their tail
